The title of this increasingly popular festival could refer to many things but
in the simplest terms it seems an apt name for a programme of events that has
its audience constantly teetering on the verge of shock, delight and laughter
at the sheer mind-bending originality of the performers.
The festival this year
was so over-burdened with talented artists it is a task in itself selecting a
handful to review. The first night at Sala Rosa saw Cabaret Edgy set the bar
high. There was a brilliant piece of deadpan satire from Dayna McLeod on the
cosmetic advantages of `tea bagging' ; as well as a lurid and furiously catchy
work out video from Céline B. Laterreur - the queen of killer kitsch. Also a
hypnotic hula hoop striptease by Victoria Libertore ; who has a body good enough
to eat which she offered up to the audience in tempting portions. [...]
